The Tax Receipt

Your receipt, any year

The same itemized receipt for any fiscal year from 2015 to 2025, each one built from that year's own Treasury and OMB figures and reconciled the same way. Spending shifts more than you might expect: in FY2015 the government spent $3.69 trillion, and in FY2025, $7.01 trillion.

Fiscal year

2015 is as far back as this goes: it's the first year in Treasury's published data, and a receipt with nothing authoritative to reconcile against isn't one.

No state receipt for FY2025. Census surveys state finances one year at a time and keeps only recent releases available — FY2023 is the one this site has, and it is the only year here whose federal and state figures come from the same twelve months. Pairing them across years would produce a split that never happened.
